Illini Bluffs High School is a team of education professionals intensely allied in our shared responsibility for student learning and achievement. At IBHS, we will endeavor to ensure each individual is excited to be here each day, is deeply valued while here each day, and leaves richly fulfilled each day.

 

As a professional learning community that is deeply committed to continuous school improvement, Illini Bluffs High School Staff are diligent in their pursuit of best and current practices. Currently, staff are updating curriculum to match new statewide initiatives and ensure each student graduates college and/or career ready. We are focused on providing a sound education that prepares students to be productive and successful citizens. The staff at IBHS is increasing their knowledge and use of educational technology, and aligning curriculum to reinforce student’s awareness of appropriate digital citizenship. At IBHS, we recognize that we are not alone in our efforts to provide our students the best education possible. Positive and productive school, family, and community partnerships are an essential component of student achievement.

About Mr. Brown

This is my fifteenth year at Illini Bluffs. During my first two years (2005-2007) I taught ELA, Health, and Social Studies in the sixth grade. I then moved to the high school (2007 - 2015) where I taught a variety of courses in the Social Sciences. This is my fifth year in my role as Principal.  I have enjoyed my experiences teaching, coaching, and leading in the district and continue to learn a great deal every day.

I grew up in Tremont, Illinois, and graduated from Tremont High School in 2001. I attended Eureka College, where I studied secondary history education from 2001-2005. In 2009, I obtained my Master’s Degree in School Improvement Leadership. I am currently enrolled in the Ed.S. program at Western Illinois University. My wife Ashleigh and I have been blessed with three amazing children - Kyleigh and Garrett both attend Illini Bluffs Schools and our newest addition Gabriel is a Tiger in waiting.
