TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Our Mission is to improve the student learning experience through the effective use of technology.
Through the appropriate and ethical use of technology, we assist in creating a positive learning environment for all students, staff and administrators that encourages the use of technology to increase productivity, reinforce learning, encourage creativity and enhance curriculum.
We provide and support over 1,200 computing devices to our staff and students throughout our 3 schools. We have a mixture of dedicated wired computer labs, wireless carts, classroom sets of devices, and devices assigned to individual staff members. Our district is known for its technology capabilities and we are proud of just how much we have been able to provide for the last 20 years.
During the Summer of 2015, we made a significant investment in our network infrastructure. We also purchased over 470 Google Chromebooks and have implemented Google Apps for Education throughout the district. We continue to make technology a priority which ensures our students and staff have the tools they need to succeed in a 21st-Century learning environment.

Latest Projects
Summer 2015 - Infrastructure Phase #1
Goal: District-wide wireless that provides coverage and density
During the Summer of 2015, we made a significant investment in our network infrastructure. The $93,000 project included the installation of 78 wireless access points throughout the complex, new network switches, and firewall. This investment was needed to handle the influx of mobile devices connecting to the network. The new wireless network has been rock-solid and is working well. We applied for and were rewarded $49,000 in reimbursement for the project from the federal government. This money will be used for more technology infrastructure projects.
District Tech, Frank Barclay, installs on of 78 wireless access points which was part of infrastructure upgrade.
Floorplan of the district with wireless access points distributed throughout all 3 schools.
Summer 2015 - Mobile Devices
Goal: Purchase and distribute classroom sets of Chromebooks district-wide
During the Summer of 2015, we purchased over 400 Chromebooks which are laptop-like devices that utilize the Google Apps for Education program. We have 13 classroom sets of Chromebooks throughout the district. We are nearly 1:1 (student to computing device) in our middle school. We hope to purchase even more mobile devices in the summer of 2016.
Spring/Summer 2016 - Infrastructure Phase #2
Goal: Consolidate the district's data center and update the wiring in the main network closet.
This project is currently in the planning phase. Our district's servers are aging and we have antiquated wiring in our main data center. The technology department is exploring the option to rewire our main network closet and consolidate 10 physical servers down to 2 physical servers. The 2 new physical servers will house 5 virtual servers each saving space and power!
